User Guide
1. Capture
Use the tray menu or shortcuts to start a capture. Choose full screen, UI element, or custom area capture.
- Capture Full grabs the current display.
- Capture Element highlights the item under the cursor.
- Capture Area lets you drag a custom region.
2. Annotate
Select a tool from the floating toolbar, then draw directly on the screenshot. Click an annotation again to edit it.
- Line, curve, freehand pen, marker, rectangle, ellipse, text, sequence markers, and magnifier are supported.
- Press Delete to remove the selected annotation.
- Use Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y for undo and redo.
3. CAD dimensions
Add CAD-style aligned, angular, radius, and diameter annotations. Labels can be edited manually after drawing.
- Hold Shift while drawing to snap angles.
- Angular dimensions calculate the angle automatically.
- Dimension color, width, and line style follow the same annotation controls.
4. Adjust style
Use the toolbar color picker and wheel shortcuts to adjust styles without interrupting your drawing flow.
- Mouse wheel zooms the screenshot.
- Ctrl + wheel switches line style.
- Shift + wheel changes line width.
- Alt + wheel changes arrow style or marker opacity.
5. Copy, save, pin
Right-click the screenshot editor for quick output actions.
- Copy sends the final image to the clipboard.
- Save As exports an image file.
- Pin keeps the capture above other windows.
- Send to PureRef adds the capture to your PureRef board.
6. Reopen later
Save an ArcShot project when you need to continue editing the same screenshot later.
- Save Project creates an editable .arc file.
- Open ArcShot Project restores the screenshot and every annotation.
- Double-clicking an .arc file opens it in ArcShot.
